for I had wished to rip my eyes out
for I had wished to rip my eyes out is a series of 39 photographs, scanned from a singular 36exp Kentmere ISO 100 B&W 35mm film roll. The film was shot traditionally using a SLR camera and a 50mm prime lens. It was souped in a solution of vinegar and rusty metal, before being hand developed in Kodak D76. From start to finish, this project took about six weeks to complete. Scanned as negatives, trace deposits of rust appear as delicate blues and green hues.

03 AUTO|BIOGRAPHIES
Through a mixture of digital video and animated experimental analog photographic work, the mechanism of the camera, proxy of the eye, is dismantled. With minimal silent narration, the film invites the viewer onto an immersive journey—across green landscapes devoid of green, torn film and torn out eyes, and vegetal corpses — to rediscover the limits of their own vision and explore novel ways of presenting nature devoid of the human gaze

04 ULTRAVIOLET GARDENS
Ultraviolet Gardens, is the thesis book I presented to the University of Waterloo in fulfilment of the thesis requirement for the degree of Master of Architecture.
It was important to me, to avoid the rootedness of architectural sites, their boundaries and edges. I had a few options. I could center myself somewhere and in the way of Deleuze and Guattari, branch out from there, like a rhizome. I could create a mosaic of many places, in many times. Or I could focus on greenness, through its most obvious visual characteristic: the colour green.
