MATERIA INSOLITA

Created by Cassandra Lesage Fogué in 2024,

Materia Insolita, is a project space dedicated to the research of the weirdness of the banal―to uncovering strange matter in the mundane. The projects presented here range in scope and medium―from film, photography, writing and editorial design―each supported by minutious attention attention to detail and research.

Within my work, I explore the speculations of visual representation, radical ecologies of design, conversations between new media and old media, and the research of new material explorations. I am always looking to collaborate on new projects, whether within, or outside of these bounds.

02 for I had wished to rip my eyes out

for I had wished to rip my eyes out is a series of 39 photographs, scanned from a singular 36exp Kentmere ISO 100 B&W 35mm film roll. Or I could focus on greenness, through its most obvious visual characteristic: the colour green.
